Applique Embroidery. Techniques and Projects. Florence Daisy Collingwood

I have been lucky enough to have been taught for many years by this exceptionally talented embroiderer. It is an amazing honour to have photos of several of my pieces included in her new book.

The Bayeux Tapestry

Most people know about the the original Bayeux Tapestry which is in Bayeux, France. Of course it not a tapestry but an embroidery and has amazingly survived since it was made some time in the 1070s. What most people don't realise is the UK has its own copy. Stitched in 1885 by 35 women, the replica is on display in Reading Museum, Berkshire.
